Johnson & Perrott Fleet has raised over €4000 for leading social justice charity Extern. The money will be used to support young people in the Tallaght area who are engaged on an Extern programme.
Staff from from Johnson & Perrott Fleet, based in South City Business Park, Tallaght, raised €4K for Extern through competing in the Hell and Back adventure race in Killruddery House, Co. Wicklow. Not for the faint hearted, the hellish 7km adventure course required staff to go over, under, around, and through numerous man-made and natural obstacles, including Sniper Alley, 10 Foot Walls and Electric Shocks.
The money raised by Johnson and Perrott is being used to establish a skills development fund within Extern Ireland. It will offer social, activity, and employability-based training, for young people from the Tallaght area who are being supported by the charity.
Last year Extern supported over 15,000 people across the island of Ireland on a range of issues. It works with people from the Traveller community, and people who are homeless, who are living with addiction, who are refugees, who have an offending background, and with children and young people, and their families, who are experiencing challenges in their lives.
Jonathan O’Brien, Managing Director of JP Fleet, said: “Extern are a long established and trusted organisation who meet clients at their point of need, developing support which will work for them as an individual. That matches very much with our client ethos here at Johnson Perrott, and so we are delighted to be supporting Extern as our charity of the year. I am immensely proud of our staff who were tested both physically and mentally, but who kept going knowing that it was young people from Tallaght who are going to benefit from their efforts.”
Thanking JP Fleet for their efforts, Extern CEO, Charlie Mack added, “As the leading social justice charity on the island of Ireland, Extern is proud to be working alongside local companies to help improve the lives of young people and families across the Dublin area. I would personally like to thank all the staff at JP Fleet for their tremendous efforts. They can be confident that they are helping to change the lives of young people in their local area.”
Thanks to generous donations, Extern continues to support vulnerable children and young people across Ireland to deal with difficult periods in their lives.
