Johnson & Perrott at MBAAI National Strategy Competition

Johnson & Perrott was pleased to have a presence at this year’s MBA Association of Ireland (MBAAI) National Strategy Competition, which took place in Dublin. Our Marketing Manager, Jerry Crowley, served on the judging panel in his role as Southern Chapter Director and committee member of the MBAAI — an involvement that reflects our continued support for initiatives linking business practice with academic excellence.

The National Strategy Competition is a flagship MBAAI event, bringing together postgraduate teams from leading Irish institutions to respond to a live strategic brief. In 2026, participants were challenged to consider how Ireland might establish itself as a global centre of excellence in autonomous vehicle development and deployment — a theme that resonates strongly with the ongoing transformation of the mobility sector.

Finalist teams from DCU Business School, Dublin Business School, TU Dublin Graduate Business School and the University of Limerick MBA programme delivered well-structured, commercially grounded proposals. DCU Business School emerged as overall winners, presenting a clear and confident strategy within a demanding timeframe.

The standard of individual contribution was also noteworthy. Grainne Sutcliffe was named Best Speaker, while Michael Cawley received the Commendable Speaker award, recognising the strength of presentation, clarity of thought and leadership demonstrated throughout the competition.

At Johnson & Perrott, we value opportunities to engage in forward-looking dialogue around transport innovation, sustainability and the future of mobility in Ireland. Forums such as the MBAAI National Strategy Competition create meaningful connections between academic research and industry experience, while encouraging the development of Ireland’s next generation of strategic leaders.

We congratulate the MBA Association of Ireland, the organising committee and all participating teams on delivering a high-quality event, and we thank Aptiv for hosting. Collaborative initiatives of this nature are essential in strengthening Ireland’s position within the evolving global mobility landscape.
