About Lara Gillespie
Lara Gillespie is an Irish professional cyclist, world champion and Olympian who competes at the highest level across road and track cycling. Originally from Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, Lara began her cycling journey with the support of local clubs before progressing onto the international stage and representing Ireland at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Team Ireland
In 2025, Lara made Irish sporting history by winning the women’s elimination race at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, becoming Ireland’s first female track cycling world champion and earning the coveted rainbow jersey. Away from competition, Lara provides an honest insight into the preparation required to perform at an elite level.
